The way to study accounting differs from math along with other subjects.A lot of studying consists of reading the book from beginning to end.In accounting skim through the book to find exactly what it is you are looking for. Also practice practice practice. It takes time to understand accounting. You must also know how to finish the problem. You can't start and not know how to finish because then everything is wrong. Also having some kind of curiosity will help you understand it because you're trying different ways to figure out the problem, which at the end helps you understand it way better than before.

This tip list did a great job of hitting all the major tips in accounting. Tips 7 and 11 were very relevant; knowing the terminology is important because each term is generally similar but very specific. Tip 13 was true as well; a lot of accounting concepts appear counter-intuitive at first, but upon closer inspection, you begin to understand how it is all connected in a well thought out system.

I was especially impressed with the 15 tips for studying accounting becauae it gave me several steps to follow to ensure my success. I like the idea of knowing that accounting is difficult hard work ,but not impossible.

I also like the idea of working with a partner and working alone. This allows the opportunity to tackle the things that you know and determine the things you do not know.

Although this is different from math it has study similarities. I have to practice, practice, practice and I have a study partner to discuss problems that I do not understand. This has helped me greatly and I recommend it to anyone that is taking accounting.

From my experience, most of these tips are right on. I think for beginning accountants the most important tips are numbers 7 and 11. The sooner you understand the technical language, the more accurate questions you can ask when you get stuck, the more you'll understand your textbook, and the more you'll understand your professor.

Tip 7 is probably the weirdest thing for new accountants, because in almost every other subject you don't have to thoroughly know every single step in a sequence. In accounting, if you forget a step, you might as well have not started the problem. This really makes sense when you consider that as an accountant you will be dealing with people's finances.

I really enjoyed how you have 15 steps laid out in sequence -- very similar to accounting. Steps are easy to follow and the language is humorous. Several of the tips are key and I am glad you point them out.

Step one: Sequence is intentional. That is very true and important to remember when studying accounting. Step 6: Novels are meant to be read from beginning to end but not accounting. That is right on the mark. I don't remember the last time I actually read an accounting book. However, i did skim it and focus on the problems and highlights. I like your description of accounting as a marketable skill and helps develop your ability to do analytic thinking. Thank you for these great steps.

Ask questions in class, use time in class effectively, ask your instructor about areas that you don''t understand. These are additional skills that are essential in studying accounting. I forgot to mention these salient points in my previous review. So this is an additional to the previous review. Make study group of 2 to 3 students. cCme prepared for class. sSudy the materials and try problems without looking in the book. Read the text thoroughly before attempting questions.
