Memory Strategies

The resource that I found helpful for the subject that I'll be tutoring is "Information and Organization Strategies". Some of the memory strategies listed involve flash cards, matrices, Mnemonics, Visual Association, etc. Flash cards , I've found to be helpful in the past, for memorization. These are a great way to remember key words and definitions.

An example of a Mnemonic would be the order of operations that are needed to be remembered in Algebra. Because of Mnemonics, I've remembered the sequence of operations: P.E.M.D.A.S "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". Each letter stand for an operation: Parenthesis, exponents, multiply, divide, addition and subtract.

Visual Associations are great too. In a sense that something out of place in a lecture, conversation, or a person, could help someone remember. An example of this would be when someone wears a type of clothing that someone notices, this would visual association in helping them to remember that person.
